Malachi Toney’s Mom Reacts As Miami WR Becomes One Of The Faces Of EA College Football 27

In what was arguably one of the most anticipated releases in the college football world, Electronic Arts (EA) has finally released the poster for the upcoming EA College Football ’27, featuring wide receiver Malachi Toney, quarterback Dante Moore, and running back Kewan Lacy.

The Deluxe edition of the game will also feature Indiana Hoosiers championship-winning head coach Curt Cignetti, alongside linebacker Colin Simmons, cornerback Leonard Moore, and quarterback Jayden Maiava, in addition to the three standard-edition players on its poster.

Being on the cover of one of the most historically coveted games is no easy feat, and it was acknowledged by Malachi Toney’s mom, Toni. Known for being vocal about her son’s accomplishments, Toney’s mom celebrated with a jubilant post on X, writing:

“University Of Miami🏈 #G.A.B.O.S”, Toni Toney posted on X.

Malachi’s mom reiterating the “Game Ain’t Based On Sympathy” slogan shows how instrumental the wide receiver was during Miami’s CFP final run last season. Malachi Toney spoke on the origin of the phrase, adopting it from a ‘prisoner.’ The 18-year-old wideout recorded 1,211 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns.

Who Featured On EA College Football 26’s Cover?

In what EA is calling the celebration of the next generation of football stars, the latest cover poster for College Football 27 has garnered mixed reactions from football fans. However, if the template of future football stars is to be followed, it’s fair to say that EA has done a pretty accurate job historically.

Last year, only two players appeared on the cover of EA’s flagship CFB game: Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith and Alabama wide receiver Ryan Williams. Both lived up to their reputations last season, helping their respective teams qualify for the CFB playoffs.

Jeremiah Smith posted 1,243 yards and 12 touchdowns, while Williams’ 4 touchdowns were instrumental in his team reaching the quarterfinals.
