“Barely Faster Than Kadarius Toney”: Jeremiyah Love’s First Unofficial 40-Yard Time Sets Fans Abuzz

Jeremiyah Love declared for the NFL Draft with high expectations. In his three seasons with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, the star running back showed a lot of growth, especially in his final two seasons with the program.

Love is creating a lot of buzz at the NFL Draft Combine, where players are being assessed while the NFL teams keep a close eye on the prospects they want to bring in. Amid all the buzz, Love recorded his 40-yard dash time.

Underdog NFL posted the unofficial 4.37, 40-yard dash time for the star running back. Some fans aren’t impressed by the number, and they expressed that in response to the post on X.

“Barely even faster than Kadarius Toney,” a fan wrote.

“ehh, underwhelming time given the hype around him,” a fan wrote.

Not everyone sees the 4.37 time as a bad thing. It’s faster than the average time recorded by most players. So, there are some fans who are willing to welcome Love to their franchise if the team makes that decision.

“Some chiefs fans saying they don’t want him at 9 cause he’s a running back……We would be lucky if he fell to us and this would be a no brainer pick imo,” a fan wrote.

    “JEREMIYAH LOVE U R A TITAN !” a fan wrote.

“He will not get past the chiefs,” a fan wrote.

“Yea the commanders can’t let him get past pick 7,” a fan wrote.

“Top 10 lock,” a fan wrote.

There’s no clarity on Love’s NFL destination. Several teams have shown interest in him, and he is expected to be a top 10 pick in the draft. But there’s one team that the star running back would prefer to join.

Jeremiyah Love on Playing Alongside Patrick Mahomes

The Kansas City Chiefs have the 9th pick in the draft. Love has been linked to the Chiefs in several reports recently. During a recent appearance on the Rich Eisen Show, Love talked about possibly going to Kansas.

Other than the opportunity to play alongside Patrick Mahomes, he will also get to be close to his home.

“Yes, I would be [up for joining the Chiefs],” he said. “Especially playing with Patrick Mahomes. I feel like he’s the best quarterback as of right now that’s in the league. I feel like he is top 1. So, it would be an honor to play with him.”

Despite his preference, Love made it clear that he’d be open to going anywhere, as his main goal is to prove himself in the NFL.
