Jeremiyah Love NFL Scouting Combine: Will Notre Dame Star Participate In Pre-Draft Drills?

Notre Dame Fighting Irish star Jeremiyah Love is expected to participate in the NFL Combine. According to NFL insider Tom Pelissero, the running back would run the 40-yard dash.

Pelissero also mentioned that Ohio State Buckeyes EDGE Arvell Reese will also be participating in the NFL Combine.

Previously, it was reported that the Fighting Irish star was invited to the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis. The NFL Scouting Combine will take place in February. Top-ranked stars like Love will compete, measure, and interview with teams ahead of the April draft.

There are several activities and drills in the combine. Love will at least record his 40-yard dash, but it is unknown whether he will participate in other drills like vertical jump, and other position-specific tests, as some players choose to skip specific drills and focus on positional or pro-day workouts instead.

Notre Dame’s Jeremiyah Love Predicted to Be Drafted By Chiefs

Jeremiyah Love enters the 2026 NFL draft as one of the top running backs. According to NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah’s latest mock, the Kansas City Chiefs could draft the Fighting Irish star with their ninth overall selection in the first round.

“Patrick Mahomes finally gets an elite back,” Jeremiah wrote. “If defenses continue to play a conservative shell defense against the Chiefs, Love can make them pay.”

The Chiefs could use a running back of Love’s talent after their solid 5-3 start to the season turned to 6-11 finish. The Chiefs’ rushing offense was led by Kareem Hunt and Isiah Pacheco. The Chiefs ranked 25th in the NFL with 106.6 rushing yards per game and 20th with 4.2 yards per rush.

Love is coming off an incredible season with Notre Dame, finishing with 1,372 rushing yards on 6.9 yards per carry and 18 rushing touchdowns. He was a unanimous All-American and won the Doak Walker Award, given to the best running back in college football.

If the Chiefs are able to draft Love with their ninth pick, the Chiefs could use his speed in complement to quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ arm talent. They missed to qualify fo the playoffs last season and adding Love could go a long way in their ability to return to big games.
