Jeremiyah Love NFL Draft: Notre Dame RB Makes Feelings Very Clear On Playing Alongside Patrick Mahomes Amid Speculation

Jeremiyah Love is expected to be a first-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. Several reports and draft projections have placed him as a mid-first round pick. Love has been making waves during the NFL Draft Combine.

The star running back played for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish from 2023 to 2025, earning his reputation as a reliable offensive backfield option. His last two seasons with Notre Dame were phenomenal.

Love recently went to the Rich Eisen Show, where he was asked about the upcoming draft. When asked if he reads mock drafts, Love said that he sees everything that’s being put out, but he doesn’t get bothered by the rankings.

The 20-year-old understands that whatever happens from here is out of his control, so he likes to distance himself from feeling positive or negative about anything. Love said that he knows he’s being linked to the Chiefs, the Cowboys, the Giants, and other teams.

Even though he has plenty of options, Love said that he would be “blessed to go anywhere.” However, possibly getting the opportunity to play alongside Patrick Mahomes is exciting for the running back.

Love is from Missouri, so going to the Chiefs will have additional benefits as well. He will get to stay close to his home.

“Yes, I would be [up for joining the Chiefs],” he said. “Especially playing with Patrick Mahomes. I feel like he’s the best quarterback as of right now that’s in the league. I feel like he is top 1. So, it would be an honor to play with him.”

While Love maintains his stance that he would be happy to join any team, the Chiefs are surely a standout team for him because of Mahomes and an opportunity for him to stay close to his home.

Dan Patrick on Jeremiyah Love Joining the Chiefs

Love is among the top three best running back prospects in the last decade. He has impressed everyone with his talent and ability to learn and grow. Being talented and coachable makes him one of the most sought-after players in the draft.

The Kansas City Chiefs, who have the 9th pick in the draft, are among the frontrunners in this case. The combination of Mahomes and Love is exciting, and it’s already posing a threat to the rest of the league.

“Being here for two days now, I can tell you the thing I hear from everyone — ‘please do not let Jeremiyah Love fall to Kansas City. Don’t let that happen. Do not give Patrick Mahomes Jeremiyah Love,’” Matt Miller said.

The Chiefs had a disastrous run last season, and they would leave no stone unturned to bounce back this season. Drafting Love would be a major step in that direction.
