Is Jermod McCoy Participating at the NFL Combine Today? Status Update on Tennessee CB

Yes, Tennessee Volunteers cornerback Jermod McCoy is listed as a participant in the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine. McCoy is among the 319 players invited to the NFL Scouting Combine this week in Indianapolis. The cornerback missed the 2025 season due to an ACL injury.

According to NFL insider Jordan Reid, McCoy will participate in medical evaluations, but won’t be involved in drills. McCoy’s position group is scheduled for Friday’s on-field workouts at 3:00 p.m. ET.

McCoy had a stellar season in 2024. However, in Jan. 2025, during a training session, he tore his ACL, leaving him sidelined for the 2025 season. In 2024, he recorded four interceptions, six passes broken up and allowed just two touchdowns.

He is projected to be picked in the first round of the 2026 NFL draft.

Jermod McCoy Among Three Tennessee Players Projected To Go in First Three Rounds

The Vols have three players who could go as early as inside the first three rounds in the mock draft from Pro Football Focus. PFF’s Gordon Guinness projects Jermod McCoy at No. 15, Colton Hood at No. 37 in the second round and wide receiver Chris Brazzell II at No. 95 in the third round.

“McCoy would be a great fallback option for a team that could lose cornerback Jamel Dean to free agency,” Guiness wrote. “McCoy missed all of the 2025 season but earned an 87.0 PFF overall grade in 2024.”

Meanwhile, on Mel Kiper Jr.’s ESPN Big Board, McCoy goes at No. 13, while also predicting him to be the No. 1 cornerback to be picked in the draft. Kiper Jr. predicts Hood at No. 5 corner, Brazzell at No. 6 at wide receiver and Josephs at No. 6 among outside linebackers.

Moreover, ESPN draft analyst Matt Miller has McCoy and Hood both getting picked inside the first 13 picks. McCoy at No. 11 to the Miami Dolphins and Hood at No. 13 to the Los Angeles Rams.

NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah projects McCoy at No. 11 overall to the Dallas Cowboys and Hood at No. 29 to the Rams.

“The Cowboys must fix their pass rush and secondary,” Jeremiah wrote. “I believe there’s a drop-off at cornerback after McCoy, so they address the position here… The Rams double down on the secondary in Round 1 with free agency threatening to eat into their DB depth.”

It remains to be seen how the combine turns out for McCoy.
