Some analysts, like Kevin Clark and Colin Cowherd, have expressed their concerns with Indiana’s star quarterback, Fernando Mendoza. However, with the Las Vegas Raiders in possession of the No. 1 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, the franchise’s general manager is confident that the youngster will have strong resources to help him grow, including Tom Brady (worth $300 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth).
Brady, a partial owner of the Raiders franchise, would surely be a huge plus on Mendoza’s list of pros at Las Vegas, as the Patriots legend is the undisputed GOAT of the game with seven Super Bowl rings to his name.
Talking about how involved Brady has been in the whole process of drafting Mendoza, general manager John Spytek said during his NFL Combine appearance:
“For me, it’s kind of the same as it’s always been, other than we probably talk more about strategy and football and roster building and team building and all those different things… I mean, he’s the best ever to do it. So, I think whoever the quarterback is that’s playing for the Raiders has a unique opportunity to learn from the best.”
“And Tom has got a lot of humility to him, and just because he did a certain way, he doesn’t have expectations that you do it all that way too. But there are some things that he’s uncompromising on. And I think whoever the quarterback is for the Raiders, I think Tom is a great resource for them,” he added.
Joel Klatt Predicts Guaranteed Success for Fernando Mendoza at Las Vegas
On Tuesday’s episode of “The Herd,” Joel Klatt expressed his confidence in Mendoza’s future in the NFL.
Speaking at the NFL Combine ahead of the draft, Klatt said he believes Mendoza is definitely going to succeed in the NFL, despite not throwing.
“I’m a huge believer that … [quarterbacks have] to own the game from the pocket. You have to do that in the National Football League. You cannot run yourself into a Super Bowl.” Klatt said.
Klatt highlighted that Mendoza’s best performances have come in the most important parts of the season, as he makes huge throws from the pocket late in the game, and said that he is accurate and a leverage thrower.
