Ty Simpson recently made a bold statement regarding Indiana’s play during their Rose Bowl matchup where Alabama faced one of its worst losses in the program’s history.
The Crimson Tide lost by 35 points, ending the game with an overall score of 38-3. Despite the brutal loss, Simpson revisited the game with a different perspective during his recent conversation with Caleb Downs.
Simpson said from where he sees it, the Hoosiers didn’t do anything much different than what they did in most of the games and added that when he got the ball he knew exactly what was going to happen.
Simpson further said the Hoosiers just didn’t mess up and were in the exact spot they were supposed to be, affirming that they were so well coached.
Reacting to this statement, Indiana DC Bryant Haines took to X and wrote:
“Adorable. We also saw everything they were doing, on every single snap… It’s just that we exploited those cues. And didn’t get frozen and crushed by them.”
Haines further doubled down on his take after catching flak from Alabama fans.
“That’s all it took to break your entire fanbase?” He wrote. “Wow.. maybe I should’ve just said “Boo”. No apologies, no compliments. Grow up folks. He had a bad take and I said the painful truth. Bounce back better. #GoIU #NoCompliments”
Browns GM Andrew Berry Heaps Praise on Ty Simpson Ahead of 2026 NFL Draft
Some analysts tossed the idea of Ty Simpson potentially finding a home with the Cleveland Browns in the 2026 NFL Draft but others believed that they should focus on developing Shedeur Sanders as the franchise quarterback.
Browns GM Andrew Berry recently spoke to the media during the pre draft press conference.
Dropping massive praise on Simpson, Berry highlighted that the Alabama star is a coach’s son and called him very smart, driven and physically talented.
“And he did a great job maximizing it. So, we’ve really enjoyed our time with Ty,” Berry said.
Ty Simpson ended his collegiate journey with just one year as a starter.
