Lane Kiffin recently made the headlines again for something he said about Ole Miss in an interview with Vanity Fair.
If Kiffin’s Ole Miss exit wasn’t controversial enough, the LSU head coach recently made a comment about his recruiting troubles during his time with the Rebels.
Kiffin said that one of the problems he faced a lot of the times was that while a player said they want to play for him, their grandparents allegedly didn’t agree to the decision.
This statement raised a lot of eyebrows about a potential racial problem at Ole Miss, after which Paul Finebaum didn’t hold back on his criticism towards Kiffin.
“An SEC coach at LSU is breaking big news in Vanity Fair, has to be shaking up Fifth Avenue right now, Greenie. I mean, but, but it’s Lane Kiffin, and the most important thing to factor in here, this wasn’t a slip of the tongue. I talked to the writer who did the VanityFair piece the other day, Kurt Smith. He said he didn’t even ask Kiffin about the racism aspect of it. Kiffin just started, riffing, and this is Kiffin trying to wipe Ole Miss off the face Of the Earth. Heis still very bitter at them, even though they’re the jolted lover. He’s bitter at them, Greeny, because they wouldn’t let him coach in the playoffs, and he has to recruit against them, and he also has to play against them on September nineteenth, a game that will gain a little bit of attention.” Finebaum said.
Steve Sarkisian Takes a Shot at Lane Kiffin’s Former School Ole Miss
Steve Sarkisian recently caught the fans attention after he took a bold shot at Lane Kiffin’s former school, Ole Miss.
The Texas head coach told the USA today about how seriously his University takes the academics part of being an athlete, especially when it comes to players that join the program through the transfer portal.
“But you’re going all the way back to 50% if you play here and want a degree. But at Ole Miss, they can take you.” Sarkisian said.
Sarkisian said that while Texas cuts the player’s credits by 50% upon joining, schools like Ole Miss could get a degree by simply basket weaving.
