Texas Tech fans found themselves in the middle of a recruiting debate this week after five-star defensive lineman Jalen Brewster was spotted on an official visit to LSU.
The No. 1 overall prospect in the 2027 recruiting class currently remains committed to Joey McGuire’s Texas Tech, but that hasn’t stopped Lane Kiffin from pursuing him. Videos from his visit to Baton Rouge are circulating on social media, sparking split reactions from fans.
With LSU hosting one of its biggest recruiting weekends of the year, this became one of the most talked-about visitors on campus.
Texas Tech supporters quickly brushed aside concerns about a potential flip.
“Everyone knows he ain’t flipping from Texas Tech,” one fan confidently wrote.
“You aren’t committed if you do this,” another user wrote, questioning why a committed recruit would continue taking high-profile visits.
“He don’t look good in that ngl get him a different number,” one person joked.
Another added, “Just don’t look right on him not even trying to be funny.”
“Kid is college ready physically, NOW!” one fan wrote.
Lane Kiffin Continues Pursuit of Nation’s Top Recruit
Brewster committed to Texas Tech on October 4, 2025 and is widely seen as the centerpiece for the program’s future recruiting class.
However, LSU doesn’t seem to be backing down now.
We can clearly see in the video that Brewster looked really excited while touring Tiger Stadium and also took part in the photoshoot while wearing LSU jersey. Right now the program’s full attention will be to get him to flip his commitment.
For Brewster, this trip provided an opportunity to evaluate his decision one more time. LSU is one of the top programs and playing with them would mean more opportunities for him.
For now, Brewster remains committed to Texas Tech, and many Red Raiders fans believe that won’t change.
Still, as LSU and Kiffin continue their push towards recruitment, this battle appears far from over. Until signing day arrives, fans on both sides will continue watching where the nation’s top prospect finally lands.
