Deion Sanders’ son, Shilo Sanders, showed up at Model Volleyball tournament in the 12th Street and Ocean Drive area, and documented it in his YouTube vlog. On Day 1, which was on Monday, Shilo approached a woman and dropped a line that was was bold. He told her:
“You look like my stepmother.” (13:28)
When the woman understandably looked confused and responded with a shocked “What?”, Shilo doubled down.
Notably, Shilo thought she was actually Karrueche Tran, who is currently dating his father, Deion Sanders.
He even turned to his viewers to ask if they agreed with the comparison, asking, “Y’all tell me in the comments if I’m tripping.”
In the Model Volleyball tournament, the 17th annual event featured top model agencies (like Next and Elite) competing for charity.
On Tuesday, Deion Sanders shared a clip of the witty conversation on Instagram and tagged Karrueche Tran.
Deion Sanders and Karrueche Tran are not married. However, Shilo still jokingly refers to Tran as “stepmom.”
Though the couple went “Instagram official” in December, their bond was created during a very difficult year for Sanders. She was by Deion’s side throughout 2025 as he battled bladder cancer, and underwent 16 surgeries. However, Deion has stated that he asked her to stay “out” so she would not have to be a mere “nurse.” But she chose to stay.
Previously, Deion Sanders has been married two times.
Carolyn was Deion’s first wife. They were married for nine years and have two children together, Deiondra Sanders and Deion Sanders Jr.
Deion’s second marriage was to Pilar Biggers-Sanders. Their 14-year marriage was the subject of the reality show Deion & Pilar: Prime Time Love. They have three children together, Shilo Sanders, Shedeur Sanders and Shelomi Sanders.
Deion was also in a long-term relationship with the producer and businesswoman Tracey Edmonds for over 12 years (2012-2023). Though they were engaged for much of that time, they never officially married and announced their split in late 2023.
Deion Sanders Calls Out Media For Grilling Son Shedeur Sanders at Browns Voluntary Minicamp
After reporting to minicamp on Tuesday, Shedeur Sanders was asked by a reporter about adjusting from being “the man” while playing for the Colorado Buffaloes to not immediately holding that role in Cleveland.
“You were the man at Colorado, at Jackson State, probably in high school, and not right away here. So I’m asking, what’s that?” the reporter said.
Shedeur pushed back.
“I feel like I was a man. I don’t let nobody else dictate how I feel about myself. If you allow that, then you living for the wrong reasons,” he said. “I know who I am as a person, as an individual, and just being a child of God. So I can’t let nobody dictate how I feel about myself. And if I allow that, then I’m not mentally strong. I gotta be able to be mentally strong in every situation that life throws at you.”
Deion later reposted the clip on Instagram and took issue with the line of questioning.
“Lawd JESUS we just got back started & how u gon tell us who we are? That’s a Sanders you’re talking to baby,” he wrote.
In 2025 NFL draft, Shedeur was selected by the Cleveland Browns in the fifth round (144th overall). After signing a four-year contract in May 2025, he played his rookie season that same year.
Like any other rookie, Shedeur also got a reality check which young quarterbacks experience when moving from a system built entirely around them to the speed of the NFL.
At present, Shedeur is right in the thick of a three-way battle for the QB1 spot.
