New England Patriots coach Mike Vrabel and his wife, Jennifer, tied the knot in 1999. Jennifer has an impressive background. Here are five facts about her:
1. Jennifer Vrabel Made the First Move
She met Mike Vrabel at Ohio State University in the 1990s.
Jennifer first noticed Mike in a freshman lecture on time management. In a 2018 interview, she recalled that Mike “sat at the front of the classroom and always talked.” Finding him funny, she took the initiative and asked the professor for Vrabel’s phone number.
2. Jennifer Vrabel Was a Collegiate Athlete
Jennifer played for the Ohio State volleyball team from 1993 to 1996. During her athletic career, she earned All-Big Ten and Academic All-Big Ten honors, as well as multiple AVCA All-District recognitions.
3. Jennifer Vrabel Pursued Dental Hygiene
She graduated from Ohio State in 1998 with a degree in dental hygiene and worked as a dental hygienist in Columbus, Ohio.
4. Jennifer Vrabel Shares Two Children with Mike Vrabel
They have two grown-up sons, Tyler and Carter. Tyler, who was born in 2000, played at Boston College. He entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2022 and signed with the Atlanta Falcons. However, he could not make it to the team during final roster cuts.
On the other hand, Carter played baseball for several programs, including Wabash Valley College and Volunteer State Community College, before joining Tennessee Tech.
Mike Vrabel missed Carter’s birth. He was at practice with the New England Patriots when Jennifer went into labor in Ohio.
5. Jennifer Vrabel is the “Secret Weapon” of the Household
Mike has publicly credited Jennifer for her deep understanding of the league’s demands. Because she was a high-level athlete herself, she understands the discipline and sacrifice required at the professional level.
In 2018, Mike told “The Tennessean”:
“I love her to death. She’s been through a lot, and she understands this league.”
On April 7, Mike Vrabel became the subject of dating rumors after Page Six published images of him with senior NFL insider Dianna Russini at the Ambiente resort in Sedona. The photos were reportedly taken on March 28. Both Vrabel and Russini moved quickly to dismiss the rumors.
Russini has covered Vrabel for years, beginning with his tenure as the head coach of the Tennessee Titans (2018-2023).
Dianna Russini married Shake Shack executive Kevin Goldschmidt in 2020. The couple has two children.
