Insider Reveals Brendan Sorsby’s Draft Stock Ahead Of Pro Day

Texas Red Raiders QB Brendan Sorsby will be entering the NFL supplemental draft with a ton of baggage. While his talent will be undeniable, many teams might be turned off by his controversies, which have to do with his admitted gambling addiction. This makes many wonder how high his draft stock is, given the PR nightmare he might bring to whatever team would take him.

During his appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show,” ESPN college football insider Pete Thamel believes that, despite the baggage, NFL teams are interested in getting him. Thamel said he had been talking to Brendan Sorsby’s agent and that every single team in the NFL might be interested in him.

“I expect all 32 teams to go to this Brendan Sorsby Pro Day,” Thamel said. “I talked to his agent today, and he said it’s more (about) how many people are these teams gonna send.”

Sorsby and Texas Tech were in various legal battles regarding his eligibility, for which a court ultimately granted an injunction. He was cleared to play in the 2026 season, but with the lawsuits piling up, Sorsby ultimately announced his entry into the supplemental draft. These legal battles came after he admitted to making bets while playing college football, including on games his own teams played in.

With all the legal challenges to him playing college football, he is still very much eligible to turn pro and play in the NFL.

As for his entry into the supplemental draft, a source revealed that Brendan Sorsby will be holding a pro day ahead of it, and he is planning to do so at a Dallas-area high school on July 10. Sorsby is a Dallas, Texas native, and teams are expected to attend his outing at Carroll High School in Southlake.

The deadline for entering the supplemental draft will be on June 22, and Sorby decided to enter it just a week before that deadline. There is no date yet for the supplemental draft, which should take place at least a week before the start of the first training camp in late July.
