“Dudes Not Even Gunna Be the Number 1 Pick”: Fans React as Analyst Speaks on Jets Reportedly Planning to Tank for Arch Manning

Arch Manning was among the most hyped players before the 2025 college football season began, as many analysts, including Paul Finebaum, predicted that the Texas star would be among the best quarterbacks the sport would see in a decade.

As the 2025 college football season began, the Arch Manning hype quickly died down as the Texas quarterback took some time to find his rhythm, starting with the massive loss against defending champs Ohio State in week 1.

However, Manning did find his rhythm in the later part of the season and showed off the skills that he has inherited from NFL legends Eli and Peyton Manning.

Analyst Gary Myers recently shared that if the Jets sign Geno Smith and Carson Wentz for the 2026 season, it would be a big hint in terms of their interest in drafting Arch Manning for the 2027 NFL Draft event.

“Go ahead and tank for him I got a sneaking suspicion that they’re going to pull an Eli I got a sneaking suspicion that they’re going to pull an Eli Manning if the Jets get the number one pick and refuse to play for them that’s what I would do I would never want to get drafted by the Jets.” One fan reacted.

”No professional sports team sabotages their whole season by deliberately losing all or most of its games. Gary Myers is wearing a tin foil hat if he says that.” another fan wrote.

”this Arch Manning hype is rediculous – wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t end up being the best qb in that class.” Another fan predicted.

”Dudes not even gunna be the number 1 pick.” Another fan bluntly shared their thoughts.

”Mannings will put him were he needs to be. The Jets can tank all they want ,they not getting him.” Another fan said.

”The Mannings will not let that happen. Don’t care what Gary Meyers says plus do you think the Jets will be better with him? The Jets are a destination where quarterbacks go to have their careers go downhill.” another fan added.

Arch Manning’s Dad Offers Update on Texas QB’s Injury

Arch Manning’s father, Cooper Manning, shared an update on the Texas star’s injury, for which he underwent surgery in January.

During a recent interview with Chip Brown of Horns247, Cooper Manning shared that Arch’s injury was bothering him all year and that the Texas star had been doing therapy for it the whole season, which was aggravated during the Texas A&M game.

“So, he’d been doing therapy on it all year, and finally just said, ‘Look, I want to go ahead and just get this thing fixed and not have to worry about it anymore.’” Cooper shared.

The Texas QB secured over 3000 yards passing along with 26 touchdowns against 7 interceptions, while running for nearly 500 yards with 10 touchdowns on the ground.
