Texas Women’s Basketball Transfer Portal: 3 Big Names Leaving the Longhorns Post 2025–26 Season

Texas women’s basketball will go through a roster overhaul as six players are set to leave post the 2025-26 season. The Longhorns had a 35-4 overall record this season, including 13-3 in the conference.

They made it to the Final Four round of the NCAA Tournament, where they lost 44-51 to the UCLA Bruins, who went on to win the title this year. Days after the exit from the tournament, Vic Schaefer has a new problem to deal with.

Three players have entered the transfer portal, while three others are graduating this year. Jordan Lee, who joined the Longhorns in 2024 and averaged 13.2 points, 2.5 assists, and 1.4 steals per game, has entered the portal.

Five-star guard Aaliyah Crump has also entered the transfer portal after just one season with the Longhorns. She averaged 7.9 points, 2.3 rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 1 steal per game while shooting over 41% from the field.

Justice Carlton is the third player from the Texas Longhorns to enter the transfer portal. In her second season with the Longhorns, she averaged 8.5 points, 4 rebounds, and 1.1 steals per game. She shot 53% from the field and 47% from the three-point line.

Other than these three transfer portal exits, three more players are leaving the Texas Longhorns as they have exhausted their eligibility and are set to graduate. Rori Harmon, Kyla Oldacre, and Teya Sidberry have played their last game for the Longhorns.

Madison Booker and junior starting forward Breya Cunningham are expected to return with the Longhorns next season. However, head coach Vic Schaefer will still have a massive task at hand of building a roster.

Vic Schaefer on the Lack of Recognition for Rori Harmon

Rori Harmon has been the backbone of the Texas Longhorns since 2021. Her numbers and consistency are undeniable, and yet, she hasn’t received the recognition that she deserves for so long.

At the end of her college career, Harmon is looking for an opportunity in the WNBA. Before she gets there, Schaefer sets the record straight by calling out the lack of recognition for her dominance.

“Rori Harmon has scored 1,616 points, 977 assists, 659 rebounds, and 388 steals. Not one agency has ever voted her All-American,” he said. “There’s not another player in the history of our game… you hear me?… not another player in the history of our game that has had those stats.”

“She’s won 137 games. You might as well get rid of whatever awards you got if she ain’t good enough to get one of ’em,” he added.

In addition to her stats, Harmon’s leadership also deserves to be praised. She did an exceptional job during her time in Texas and will go down as one of the greatest players to ever represent the Longhorns.
