Raven Johnson is ready to show a different side of herself at the 2026 WNBA Draft. The South Carolina Gamecocks star is widely projected to be a first-round pick with several mock drafts placing her inside the top 10.
The event takes place at The Shed at Hudson Yards in New York and is broadcast exclusively on ESPN, with coverage beginning at 6:30 p.m. ET. Johnson is looking to make a great first impression.
The two-time NCAA Champion was recently in conversation with Greydy Diaz when she was asked about her plans for the WNBA Draft night Orange Carpet. Diaz asked Johnson to describe her style and give a sneak peek into what she’d be wearing tonight.
Johnson was very excited, talking about her outfit and overall look. Without revealing any details, she said that she is ready to make a splash on the Orange Carpet.
“I’m about to step. I’m about to give grown woman. I’m about to give bad ‘B word’. Oh, it’s about to give beauty. I can’t wait till y’all see what I got coming,” Johnson said.
She is also excited about her friends and fellow draft prospects as they’re about to up the fashion quotient tonight as well.
“I’m excited for Madina’s [Okot] outfit,” she added. “She’s gonna be really pretty. I think she’s gonna step outside of her box, her comfort zone.”
When Okot was asked to comment on her look for the night, she said that it’s supposed to be a surprise for now. She also didn’t reveal any details about her look, but guaranteed that she is about to “kill” it on WNBA Draft night.
Dawn Staley’s Emotional Message for Raven Johnson
Johnson joined the South Carolina Gamecocks in 2021. In her second game for South Carolina, Johnson suffered a season-ending injury. The Gamecocks still won the national title, and Johnson won her second championship in 2024.
Staley bid an emotional farewell to her star player, thanking her for choosing South Carolina and keeping her promise of winning multiple championships.
“You know, they often asked me this weekend, ‘What does Raven bring to the table?’” Staley said. “When you’re on the floor, and you’re on our basketball team, we’ve got like a 95% chance of winning…Bottom line, you’re a winner. Bottom line, you’re a really kind individual.”
Even though the Gamecocks fell short in this year’s national championship game, Johnson has already etched her name in South Carolina basketball history books.
