South Carolina Gamecocks head coach Dawn Staley doesn’t fail to impress with her appearances. Over the years, Staley has taken her fashion game to another level, and she’s particularly spotted wearing one particular brand, Louis Vuitton.
She’s even earned the nickname “Louis Vuitton Dawn” because of how frequently she wears the brand. Staley wore a $9,000 Louis Vuitton outfit in the 2024 national championship game. Last year at the national championship, her tracksuit from the same brand nearly cost $7,500.
Recently, Staley admitted that after she visited Paris, where she did a lot of shopping, she became obsessed with the brand.
“I did do some damage when I was in Paris,” she said.
She also revealed how she comes up with an outfit for a particular occasion from the brand.
“I’m presented with stuff,” she said. “It’s not like I’m going out or I’m going online, like I have someone who works in those stores. They just send me stuff and I pick up what I want and I send what I don’t want.”
Dawn Staley Comes Bearing Louis Vuitton Gifts For Gamecocks’ Opponents
Ahead of the second round matchup between the South Carolina Gamecocks and the Southern Jaguars, Dawn Staley surprised players of the opposing team.
First, she visited Southern University’s team hotel, where she spoke with players and offered encouragement. She then gave every player a Louis Vuitton “Imagination” perfume. Players also complemented the gesture from Staley.
“I was hugging her so much,” Southern guard D’Shantae Edwards said. “I just kept smelling it. I kept going back for more hugs, too. I was like wow, she smells really good.”
The Gamecocks’ head coach said she had extra samples of what she wears, so she decided to gift them to the entire team.
“Yeah, it was just a small gift,” she said. “When I got home, my friend who works at the Louis store had sent me some samples of what I wear, and I was like, let me just give them to them. I had enough of them to give to the entire team, and that was it. It was just a small gesture. I had them, I probably wouldn’t use them, and they could utilize them, and I just did it.”
Staley’s Gamecocks easily defeated the Southern Jaguars 103-34 to set up a Sweet Sixteen date with the USC Trojans in the NCAA Tournament.
