The sudden passing of Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Rondale Moore has stunned not just the world of football, but US sports in general, as several personalities, athletes and coaches from other sports have expressed their shock. Among them is South Carolina women’s basketball assistant coach to Dawn Staley, Khadijah Sessions. Following news of the Vikings star’s passing, she took to social media to also push for mental health.
“Mental health is real! Please check on your people 🙏🏾🙏🏾,” Khadijah Sessions tweeted.
Moore had been a very promising prospect from Purdue and was picked in the second round by the Arizona Cardinals before eventually finding his way to Minnesota. He missed the entire 2025 season due to a knee injury he suffered in a pre-season game. On Saturday, he was found fighting for his life inside his Indiana home before being rushed to a nearby hospital where he soon passed away at just 25 years old.
Rondale Moore’s cause of death has not been revealed yet, but a coroner has scheduled his autopsy on Sunday. However, reports indicated that it had been due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound, though this has not officially been confirmed yet. Still, this is enough for Khadijah Sessions to remind everyone of the mental health epidemic happening all over the country.
