Shaquille O’Neal’s daughter Me’arah O’Neal has been one of the fastest-growing talents in college basketball. The 6’4 forward has played her freshman and sophomore seasons for Florida. She was just finding herself in her freshman year. But last season, she showed a lot of potential.
In 33 games, starting all of them, Me’arah averaged 13.6 points and 6.4 rebounds, shooting 52.9% from the field and 38.1% from the three-point range. She entered the transfer portal on April 14. She has announced her decision to commit to Kenny Brooks’ Kentucky.
She is expected to be an important piece for Brooks’ plans at Kentucky. Me’arah is set to team up with Clara Strack for her junior year. Her mom, Shaunie, was excited, as were other basketball stars.
“I give thanks to you that I was marvelously set apart. Your works are wonderful—I know that very well. (Psalms 139:14),” Me’arah captioned her post where she shared her commitment announcement.
Shaunie commented, sharing her excitement with a GIF captioned “Lets Go!”
Ex-LSU star Bella Hines commented, “Meez.”
UConn’s Kayleigh Heckel commented, “yesss.”
Houston’s Kateri Poole shared, “Love you.”
LSU’s Jada Williams said, “Got you 5L tweez.”

USC’s Brooklyn Shamblin shared, “So excited for you!! Go be great sis.”
Kentucky women’s basketball transfer portal
Kenny Brooks has had a busy transfer portal to rebuild the team. Kaelyn Carroll, Dominika Paurova, and Jordan Obi entered the transfer portal. Clara Strack and Asia Boone announced that they would return to the Wildcats.
Kentucky has added UConn transfer Ayanna Patterson, Alabama’s Diana Collins, and now Me’arah O’Neal from Florida. They are also pursuing 6’3 forward Ilse De Vries from Miami, OH.
They also have a talented freshman class lined up for next season. 5-star recruits Maddyn Greenway, Savvy Swords, and Emily McDonald have all committed to the Kentucky Wildcats.
