TCU Horned Frogs guard Olivia Miles was seen celebrating aggressively during her triple-double performance in her team’s latest regular-season game in conference play. On Sunday, Feb. 22, Miles and the rest of coach Mark Campbell’s Horned Frogs defeated coach Bill Fennelly’s Iowa State Cyclones 80-73 on the former’s home floor, the Schollmaier Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.
In a video posted by @espn on X/Twitter, Miles was seen sizing up her defender. She went right off a Kennedy Basham screen and pulled up for a mid-range jumper from the right elbow. The senior went on to swish the contested jump shot, as it extended TCU’s three-point lead to five, 75-70, with 54 seconds left in the game. The Cyclones were immediately forced to call a timeout after the sequence.
After Miles made the shot, she returned to her squad’s side of the court and screamed in anger while punching the air, as she celebrated with the home crowd. With Miles as hyped as she was, the veteran pushed her tally to 23 points, to go with nine rebounds and 10 assists. The aforementioned jumper seemingly served as the dagger against Iowa State.
The fifth-year standout eventually finished the game with an outstanding triple-double of 26 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists in 39 minutes of action. With Miles stamping her mark onto the game, she was able to outplay Iowa State center Audi Crooks, who has been one of the best stalwarts in women’s college hoops this year. Crooks ended up with a stat line of a team-high 22 points, six rebounds, and four assists in 29 minutes of playing time.
