After a grueling four months of hooping, the regular season and the respective conference tournaments of the 2026 women’s college basketball campaign have come to a close. This end signifies a new beginning with the advent of 2026 March Madness, which is slated to get going in a few days.
With teams vying for a top spot in the NCAA tournament, Selection Sunday, which is set to commence in a few hours, will provide all the details to basketball fans alike as far as the bracketology and the seeding of their favorite teams are concerned.
Selection Sunday, a precursor to the entire March Madness campaign, is scheduled to air Sunday at 8 p.m. ET. The hour-long selection show will provide insights into all the qualified teams’ bracket spots and proper seedings on ESPN’s TV channel. Fans can also see the bracketology reveal on streaming services like the ESPN app and FUBO.
While the exact matchups will only be known once the brackets and seedings are revealed, the preliminary stage of the tournament is essentially divided into the first four, first- and second-round games, all set to take place between March 18 to 23.
We then head to the Sweet 16 and Elite Round of Games from March 27 to 30, with Fort Worth, Texas, and Sacramento hosting this particular round of fixtures.
Phoenix will host the final round of games, with the final four and national championship games taking place from April 3 to April 5, concluding the NCAA campaign.
Looking at Who Could Be The Top Four No. 1 Seeds Ahead Selection Sunday
The 64-team March Madness field will be bifurcated into four main brackets, namely Fort Worth 1, Sacramento 2, Fort Worth 3, and Sacramento 4.
The UConn Huskies are projected to headline Fort Worth 1 as the no. 1 seed, with the likes of Vanderbilt, Louisville, and Oklahoma finishing as the no. 2, no. 3, and no. 4 seeds, respectively.
