MiLaysia Fulwiley’s No. 2 seed LSU crashed out of the NCAA Tournament with an 87-85 loss to No. 3 seed Duke in the Sweet 16 on Friday. The Tigers were favorites to advance to the Elite Eight, but the Blue Devils upset Kim Mulkey’s team following a 3-pointer from Ashlon Jackson with just two seconds remaining.
Fulwiley had a game-high 28 points against Duke. She also had a team-high four assists to go with four rebounds.
Since Fulwiley transferred from South Carolina to LSU in the 2025 offseason, Gamecocks fans online mocked her after the Tigers’ loss.
“Has she entered the portal yet?” one tweeted.
“She chucked a lot of bricks in the first quarter. A few air balls, wasn’t impressed at all. That gaMe was sloppy on both ends. Ask yourself, were the stars that good or was the rest of the team that bad,” another added.
“I’m glad she got what she came to LSU for,” a third commented.
Here are a few more reactions.
“Wonder where she will transfer to now!” one wrote.
“And still didn’t beat SC,” another added.
“Zero wins vs South Carolina,” a user tweeted.
In her first year at LSU, Fulwiley averaged career-highs in points (14.6), rebounds (3.6), assists (3.5), steals (2.8), and blocks (1.4).
