It seems that Region 2 in Sacramento might lead to a possible and interesting Elite Eight matchup, as one of the most dominant teams this season, UCLA, is in the same region as perennial powerhouse LSU.
Many have been salivating for this dream matchup, and one of them is Bruins star center Lauren Betts, who leads one of the most dominant frontlines in college women’s basketball.
UCLA head coach Cori Close revealed that Lauren Betts had been wishing to be placed in the the same region as LSU, and there is excitement for that possible clash, which might happen in the Elite Eight.
However, some fans disagreed and believed that LSU might be able to beat the Big Ten powerhouse, telling the probable WNBA No. 1 pick that she better be careful what she wishes for.
“Better be careful what you asked for! LSU ain’t no puppy! And I’m a SC fan 🤣” said one Gamecocks fan.
“Love UCLA… love Lauren Betts. Lets be careful what we wish for 😵💫,” said another person.
“@lsuwbkb y’all heard them chuckles like the rest of us, one game at a time 💜💛 bring the lunch pale and hard hat time to go to work,” one Tigers fan chimed in.
“The tigers dont take seek out well last time a team called them out, they blew them out 😂 this year,” reminded one fan.
“Better worry about the Ole Miss bigs first !!! SEC is not the Big 10!,” another fan noted.

UCLA has only lost once this season, and that was against an SEC team, Texas, which is a team that LSU had beaten in the regular season. However, the NCAA Tournament is where the best shine, and the No. 1 seed UCLA Bruins will surely be battle tested once the tournament begins.
What Will the Road To LSU vs. UCLA Look Like?
While many are hyped for that possible matchup between LSU and UCLA, there is still plenty of basketball that needs to be played, and both teams must win all those games in order to reach the Elite Eight.
For UCLA, it must first beat No. 16 California Baptist in the first round and either Oklahoma State or Princeton in the second round. When it reaches the Sweet 16, it would either have to win against Ole Miss or Minnesota.
For LSU, it has to beat Jacksonville first before taking on Texas Tech or Villanova, and then in the Sweet 16, it might take on either Duke or Baylor.
