Former and current members of the South Carolina Gamecocks women’s basketball team have formed a close-knit relationship, even supporting each other after leaving college. This was evident when Indiana Fever rookie Raven Johnson, who won a national title with the Gamecocks, posted multiple photos of herself enjoying life in the WNBA on her Instagram on Sunday. Her former USC teammates flooded the comments section.
Now with the Fever, Johnson’s carousel included pregame images from their outing against the Portland Fire on Saturday. The post led to her former South Carolina teammates showering her with love.
“My girl❤️,” Ta’Niya Latson commented.
“💕💕💕💕,” Bree Hall posted.
“Love u ray ray,” Chloe Kitts wrote.
“Saved in my files🤗,” Agot Makeer added.
“Miss u ray ray,” Maddy McDaniel noted.
Her current Indiana Fever teammates also hyped up the rookie.
“Love you my girl,” Justine Pissot commented.
“Our little baby squirrel 😍😍,” Sophie Cunningham wrote.

During that road game against the Portland Fire, the Indiana Fever lost 100-84 in a fourth-quarter collapse. Tempers flared during that match, with fans noticing Fever superstar Caitlin Clark having an intense exchange with coach Stephanie White.
Caitlin Clark is All Praise for Raven Johnson Even After Loss
Somebody more than familiar with Raven Johnson’s game is Caitlin Clark, who clashed with her multiple times during March Madness, with Clark’s Iowa going up against Johnson’s South Carolina. Despite their history, Clark was all praises for her rookie teammate even after a loss against the Golden State Valkyries.
“I thought Raven was amazing last game,” Clark said before Saturday’s game against the Fire. “[She] brought that spark off the bench that we kind of needed and, you know, getting confident with her shot, her shot-making ability. She’s getting downhill, getting her feet in the paint, setting her teammates up.”
Raven Johnson is a defensive stopper of a guard, and Clark also praised that attribute, adding that Johnson is a great player and that she is still trying to get more comfortable with the WNBA.
