Kentucky Women’s Basketball Recruiting: Kenny Brooks Adds Georgia Amoore’s Sister via Transfer Portal

Kenny Brooks’ Kentucky Wildcats women’s basketball team is adding graduate guard Jemma Amoore via the transfer portal, according to reports on Wednesday. She’s the sister of Georgia Amoore, a first-team All-SEC and All-American selection for the Wildcats in 2025.

Jemma Amoore is expected to add depth to Kentucky’s backcourt, with Kenny Brooks releasing the following statement after the transfer was finalized:

“I’m excited to add Jemma to our family,” Brooks said in a statement. “She is no stranger to BBN and her familiarity to our staff and basketball system will add valuable experience to our talented backcourt. Jemma exemplifies what it means to be a Wildcat!”

The younger Amoore has spent two seasons in college basketball, 2024-25 with Sacramento State and 2025-26 with IU Indianapolis. Over those two seasons, she played in 48 games, starting two, and averaged 6.2 minutes and 1.2 points per game. She has recorded 57 points, 33 rebounds, 17 steals and 12 assists.

Her older sister, Georgia Amoore, finished her stint with the Wildcats in 2025 and was later picked with the sixth selection of the 2025 WNBA draft by the Washington Mystics.

Kenny Brooks’ Kentucky Wildcats sign Me’Arah O’Neal

In another transfer portal move, the Wildcats also added another high-profile player this week, landing Shaquille O’Neal’s daughter, Me’Arah O’Neal, from Florida.

O’Neal spent two seasons with the Florida Gators, playing in 68 games and starting in 41. She averaged 9.0 points, 5.1 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game over that period. Her sophomore season was a significant improvement in scoring terms, with her averaging 13.6 ppg.

“I give thanks to you that I was marvelously set apart. Your works are wonderful—I know that very well. (‭‭‭Psalms‬ ‭139‬‬:‭14‬),” O’NEAL wrote on the announcement of her commitment IN April.

The move to Kentucky had been announced on April 27, but Me’Arah O’Neal’s officially signed on Wednesday. To get her, the Wildcats had to beat Virginia, North Carolina, Miami and USC.

Kenny Brooks and the Wildcats went all the way to the Sweet 16 last season and finished the year as the No. 17 school in the nation, according to the AP Poll.
