TIME is often considered the epitome of world recognition, and the South Carolina Gamecocks social media page was clearly excited to be sharing the news of their women’s basketball head coach making the top 100 list.
Fans of the Gamecocks jumped in to congratulate Dawn Staley on the historic achievement, once again proving that the coach’s fan base can never be underestimated.

Among the names in the TIME top 100 list is someone very familiar to Dawn Staley in the form of former South Carolina Gamecocks superstar A’ja Wilson. Wilson has torn it up in the WNBA since graduating college under Dawn Staley, but the duo maintains a close bond even today, so this is cause for celebration for both women.
What’s Next For Gamecocks Boss Dawn Staley?
The accolades may come and go for Dawn Staley, but it’s clear that the Gamecocks head coach won’t let it affect her team’s performance on the basketball court.
Staley is already preparing her troops for another long campaign in the SEC as they look to dominate the conference once again and perhaps even push one step further in the NCAA Tournament.
The Gamecocks were beaten in the finals of the NCAA Tournament a couple of months ago, but with Dawn Staley continuing in charge, they’ll undoubtedly be favorites for the trophy this time around.
