Jada Gyamfi dropped the news of her retirement from NCAA women’s basketball after playing four years with the Iowa Hawkeyes.
On Monday, she revealed her decision on Instagram.
“Retirement post, thankful for it all🖤,” Gyamfi wrote in the caption.
Alongside, she posted 15 photos from her time in Iowa.
Gyamfi’s former teammates, Gabbie Marshall and Sydney Affolter, were happy for her.
“I love you boo! So proud of you ❤️,” Marshall wrote in the comments section.
“Love you Jades.❤️ So proud of you,” Affolter added.

Since Jada Gyamfi played at Iowa from 2022 to 2026, her career overlapped with Marshall and Affolter.
At present, Marshall is studying Occupational Therapy at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Meanwhile, Affolter is a Graduate Student Employee for the Iowa women’s basketball staff.
WNBA star Caitlin Clark also commented on Gyamfi’s retirement decision.
“So proud of u. 🤍🤍🤍 23 to the Rafters ASAP 🤞🏻🤞🏻💕💕💕,” she wrote.

Jada Gyamfi made the decision to retire following her surgery on her knee on Dec. 4 at the UI Health Care Medical Center. She was projected to miss playing for three months (approx).
At the time, Iowa was off to an 8-0 start.
The main goal of the surgical procedure was to reduce the pain, which Gyamfi had been managing throughout her college career.
Because of the surgery, she only appeared in four games during her senior season.
Before the procedure in December procedure, she played in the early season, including a memorable appearance in the season opener on Nov. 9 against Evansville. She knocked down a 3-pointer in that game.

Jada Gyamfi turned 22 on Sunday and posed in a white strapless bandeau with black wide-leg trousers on Instagram. She finished the look with red kitten heels.
Shortly after Gyamfi posted pictures of the outfit, Caitlin Clark was impressed with her birthday look.
“Hottttt,” Clark commented.

Jada Gyamfi and Caitlin Clark played together at the University of Iowa for two seasons, 2022-23 and 2023-24.
They won two Big Ten Tournament Championships together during those same years.
While Clark arrived in Iowa City in 2020, Gyamfi joined the program as a freshman in 2022.
