The two got caught up in a heated brawl with Staley, also screaming at Auriemma and saying she would beat his ass*.
Talking about Auriemma’s behavior, psychologist and author Dr. Umar shared his two cents and said:
“Geno Auriemma, who’s normally a nice, passive guy, who’s also from Philly, by the way. He got Philly roots too. Basically, Art, he had a white supremacy attack. Geno Auriemma had a white supremacy attack because he was angry as a narcissistic white male. He was angry that this black woman beat him in the national semifinal. You gotta remember, Art, this man has the most championships of any female college coach. He is used to the referees cheating for him and blowing the whistle for him. But guess what Art In that game they didn cheat for him”
“Why are you upset that you lost to this black woman? But what the Gino Auriemma situation shows you, Art, is that a lot of white men can’t stand to be defeated by black women. They can’t stand to have to compete with black women. The only time they like black women is when they’re crawling on top of them.”
“This shows you how disgusted a white man can become even a white man who most people perceive as a nice white man this shows you how disgusted with black power a white man can become when they don’t get their way with a black woman he walked to the middle of that court and basically cursed her out, allegedly.”
