MiLaysia Fulwiley, who transferred from South Carolina to LSU before the 2025-26 season began, attempted to lift the spirits of Raven Johnson, whose Gamecocks career ended on a disappointing note on Sunday.
Johnson shot inefficiently in the national championship game against the UCLA Bruins. She had only three points in 30 minutes, shooting 1-7 from the field, including 0-4 from 3-point range. Her poor shooting, coupled with South Carolina’s mistakes, led to the 79-51 loss.
Nevertheless, former South Carolina player MiLaysia Fulwiley hailed Johnson by resharing an Instagram post from Sporting News highlighting her achievements with the team.
“Forever That Girl Ray!”

Johnson joined South Carolina in 2021-22 as a 5-star recruit. In the second game of her freshman season, she suffered a season-ending knee injury. South Carolina still won the national title that season. The following season, she returned as a redshirt freshman, averaging 4.2 points, 3.4 assists and 2.6 rebounds per game to earn SEC All-Freshman Team honors.
Dawn Staley made her a starter in the 2023-24 season and she made the most of the opportunities by averaging over eight points per game.
Overall, her list of college achievements is as follows:
- 2× NCAA Champion (2022, 2024)
- Reached the Final Four every season
- SEC Defensive Player of the Year (2026)
- 2× SEC All-Defensive Team (2025, 2026)
- Second-Team All-SEC (2026)
- AP Third-Team All-American (2026)
- SEC All-Freshman Team (2023)
