Emely Rodriguez Transfer Portal: 3 Potential Landing Spots for Iowa Star

Emely Rodriguez spent one season with the Iowa Hawkeyes, but that was apparently enough for the soon-to-be third-year NCAA player. The guard made her mark on the games she was able to play in, and now will be looking for her third team in three seasons.

The news was broken by On3’s Talia Goodman in a Monday report on X. While the player did not appear to break the news herself, she will be moving on.

Here’s a look at the best landing spots available for the Iowa star.

3 Most Logical Landing Spots for Emely Rodriguez

    #3 – Ohio State Buckeyes

The number one goal for the Iowa star should be to get on a team with maximum visibility. The best way to do it is to find the best local team possible. Ohio State carries a lot of notoriety in sports across the United States.

As such, scouts will be much more likely to start their search with a big program like the Buckeyes. After the team earned the third-best ranking in the country, it was clear that something notable was building. Emely Rodiguez could be part of the next phase.

    #2 – Michigan State Spartans

The Michigan State Spartans are in the general area and also made a mark on March Madness, getting out of the first round. There are many worse situations for Emely Rodriguez to put herself in this year. Plus, as the fifth-ranked team in the country, Rodriguez might have a better shot at securing significant playing time than with Ohio State.

    #1 – Iowa State Cyclones

If her goal is to join a team on the precipice and serve as the final piece and stay as close as possible, Iowa State is her best option. The eighth-ranked team reached March Madness, proving that a baseline of talent exists in the program. However, Rodriguez would also have a shot to make a big dent on the roster from Day 1, which would give her more visibility in what she most likely hopes to be the catapult to the WNBA.
