Ahead of their respective Final Four matchups, stars from the teams showcased that they know their own coaches all too well in a recent skit.
On Friday, Geno Auriemma’s UConn Huskies, Dawn Staley’s South Carolina Gamecocks, Cori Close’s UCLA Bruins, and Vic Schaefer’s Texas Longhorns will all take the floor for their respective 2026 NCAA Final Four games.
Before that, however, @espnw on Instagram uploaded a video on Thursday, showcasing players from the aforementioned squads impersonating each of their head coaches. The first to go was UConn star Azzi Fudd, as she did coach Auriemma’s iconic jaw-drop whenever it came to moments in the game that he didn’t like. The next was Gamecocks standout Tessa Johnson, who showed Staley’s paper roll and pouting face.
The next clip saw UCLA center Lauren Betts imitating coach Cori’s press conference habits. Last but not least, Longhorns guard Rori Harmon removed her jacket, suggesting that coach Schaefer does it while complaining to the referees about a call. Nevertheless, it seems as though all four players did the task hilariously well.
“The Final Four teams know their coaches TOO well 🤣,” @espnw on Instagram captioned with a laughing emoji.
Fudd, Harmon, Betts, and Johnson are all gearing up for their Final Four matchups. But the aforementioned video is considered light-hearted, with the intensity that’s about to come in women’s college hoops. The women’s NCAA Final Four will begin with Fudd’s Huskies taking on Johnson’s South Carolina in a rematch of the 2025 national championship game, which UConn won.
This will be followed by the matchup between Betts’ Bruins and Harmon’s Texas. All four games will be played in neutral territory.
