Jerzy Robinson is one of the most talented up-and-coming players in high school right now. She is a Top 5 recruit in the class of 2026. The 17-year-old was born in Phoenix, Arizona, plays point guard, and is 6’1. The 5-star recruit is currently playing for Sierra Canyon School.
Kim Mulkey’s LSU, Geno Auriemma’s UConn, and Dawn Staley’s South Carolina were all in the race to sign No. 3-ranked Robinson. Eventually, she announced her commitment to Staley’s South Carolina on December 23. Staley and the rest of the South Carolina team went berserk when Robinson shared her commitment announcement through video call.
Jerzy Robinson has proven herself to be a really confident player. However, her recent statements might make her seem to be getting ahead of herself, not because she might not be talented enough, but because she is young and it is not really that easy to beat players like Anthony Edwards and Victor Wembanyama.
Robinson was asked if she believes she could beat Edwards in a 1v1, and she doubled down to say she believes in herself and that she can beat anyone. When asked a similar question about facing Victor Wembanyama, she backed herself again, saying it would be difficult. Her score prediction for that game was 11-10, the same as her prediction for Edwards.
“If I get the ball first, I’m going to say 11-10 me. I’m always saying me and it’s going to be me till it’s proven wrong,” Robinson said about facing Ant 1v1.
