“What Idiots Voted on This?”: Caitlin Clark Fans Ridicule WNBA GMs For Giving 20% Votes to Fever Superstar as Best PG

Caitlin Clark fans reacted to the results of a preseason survey of GMs in the WNBA. WNBA GMs responded to 42 questions about the best teams, players, coaches and offseason moves as we get closer to the regular season.

Clark ranked second among point guards, receiving 20% of the votes, down from 50% in 2025. Chelsea Gray was ranked first with 73% of the votes.

Clark was also ranked second among the best passers in the league, again losing to Chelsea Gray, who received 93% of the votes.

Fans reacted to the results on social media, criticizing league executives for ranking Gray above Clark. Here are the most noteworthy reactions:

“She has never led the league in assists, lmao what idiots voted on this?,” one fan said.

“Chelsea Gray is nowhere near as good as Caitlin. What are people smoking,” another fan said.

“These polls are unserious as they have the same players at multiple positions, such as A’ja being considered both the best forward and center,” one fan wrote.

“It’s funny how they forget who CC is and what she accomplished in her 1 full year. No worries, she’s about to remind them,” another fan wrote.

“Is there something I’m missing with Chelsea Gray because she fasho isn’t better than CC & Paige,” a fan commented.

WNBA GMs would pick Paige Bueckers over Caitlin Clark to build a franchise

The survey also posed another question to teams, asking who executives would sign if they were starting a new franchise. Clark also trailed in this category, with Paige Bueckers receiving 33% of total votes compared to Clark’s 20%.

A’ja Wilson also received 20% of the votes, with Dominique Malonga, Napheesa Collier and Breanna Stewart also getting a nod.

Clark’s rankings have dropped compared to 2025, when injuries limited her to 13 games.  She averaged 16.5 points, 8.8 assists and 5.0 rebounds per game that season.

Clark and the Fever will return to action on Friday, taking on the Dallas Wings in their first game of the 2026 season.
