Skip Bayless “Doubts” Caitlin Clark Voted For President Trump, Cites Interaction With Taylor Swift’s Kamala Harris Post

Sports analyst Skip Bayless pondered Caitlin Clark’s political leanings amid the controversy surrounding Congress’s letter to the WNBA, defending the Indiana Fever superstar. 11 Republican lawmakers threatened legal action against the league if it continued to allow Clark to be targeted by players and officials.

The letter has prompted conversations surrounding Clark’s political stance, which she hasn’t directly addressed. The Fever shot down any links between her and the franchise to the Republicans who signed off on the letter.

Bayless speculated that Clark is left-leaning, since she had liked a post by Taylor Swift endorsing Kamala Harris during the 2024 presidential election.

“I’m pretty sure the only political statement that Caitlin Clark ever made came as President Trump was trying to get elected a second time and Taylor Swift, a friend of Clark’s … endorsed Kamala Harris, and Clark liked that post,” Bayless said in a video on X. “So, I don’t know if, in fact, that means that she voted for Kamala Harris. … I don’t know.

“I don’t know if she was just trying to duck and dodge the situation, create a smoke screen, I doubt it very seriously. I doubt she voted for President Trump.”

Despite the Fever’s statement about the letter from Republicans, several conservative activists and political figures have defended the Fever superstar and questioned whether she faces increased physicality because she is white.

Clark has also spoken against online abuse and harassment of her rivals, but a section of her fans, media and political figures have downplayed those concerns.

Skip Bayless fears the worst for Caitlin Clark after Congress’s letter to the WNBA

Skip Bayless believes Congress’s letter will do more harm than good for Caitlin Clark. Bayless said he “cringed” at it and that it would “antagonize” Clark’s rivals.

“As soon as I read this, I just cringed, and it just tore me up, as this will only antagonize and infuriate those women Clark must play against,” Bayless said in his video on X on Sunday. “And they’ll say, ‘See, there, that’s what we’ve been talking about.’

“Did Caitlin Clark encourage these Republican lawmakers to send this letter? Obviously, not. Did she have anything remotely to do with this? I’m pretty sure, obviously, not.”

Bayless feels the Republicans are using Clark’s name to impress their voters and supporters, citing the race angle. However, it may backfire on Clark, despite her lack of affiliation with those groups.

Clark has played only one game since the letter was sent to WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert. She took the court on Wednesday against the Los Angeles Sparks, and the Fever lost 106-92. Clark played 16 minutes, tallying nine points.

That game ended without any controversies, especially surrounding the officiating, which was rare in a contest that featured Clark.
