Sonia Citron has started her second WNBA season at the same level that she played in her rookie year, when she was an All-Star. The Mystics star is averaging 17.8 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists in eight games.
Citron made a big move off the court, signing with WME Basketball and agent Jason Goldstein, according to a report on Monday. She is set to join stars like Sabrina Ionescu, Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Plum.
Citron, the third pick in the 2025 draft, was represented by sports agents Lindsay Kagawa Colas and Adam Patonay with the sports agency Wasserman, which also represents high-profile players like Paige Bueckers and Breanna Stewart.
WME Basketball is a part of WME Sports. William Morris Endeavor is abbreviated to WME. The basketball division became independent in 2025. It is led by agent Bill Duffy. Despite being mostly active in women’s basketball, the global talent agency also represents major NBA stars like Luka Doncic, Anthony Edwards, Chet Holmgren and Scottie Barnes. Other notable WNBA names from the WNBA are Satou Sabally, Cameron Brink and Kahleah Copper.
Fans react to Sonia Citron switching agency
Fans approved Citron’s move and were excited for what’s in store for her.
“Citron is the real deal. Mystics have a good young core. It feels like all the Mystics need is a scoring PG. Moore is decent but Dallas has too many guards. Can they get James or Sims?” one fan put his opinion forward.
“More ppl should be aware of who’s agented by who,” another fan suggested.
“A good move the button has been pushed by her team, we move. The next step is signing that sneaker deal, Adidas or Nike what you got for me?” one fan anticipated.
“Sonia Citron scored a career-high 30 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists while shooting highly efficiently (10-14 from the field and 9-10 from the free-throw line) in an overtime victory against the Indiana Fever. Can she do it again tonight?” one fan recalled.
“CC gotta sign with WME tbh,” another fan suggested.
“Ok Soni get a bag!” one fan showed excitement.
“Hopefully Jason and WME can work with Sonia and the Mystics to get that extension done after next season. We love having her in DC!” another fan said.
Sonia Citron signed a three-year contract worth $247,688 when the Mystics drafted her. Her annual salary is about $82,563, and the contract runs through the 2028 season. For this year, her base annual salary is set to be $436,016, while also carrying a cap hit of $436,016.
