Chicago Sky star Skylar Diggins raised eyebrows with her response about coach Tyler Marsh after the team’s seventh loss in 2026 came against the Toronto Tempo in a blowout result on Sunday. A reporter tried to question Diggins about the team’s half-court offense, but before he finished asking, the point guard interrupted and said the query should be directed to Marsh.
“That’s a Tyler [Marsh] question. Ask Tyler,” Diggins said.
Since May 29, the Sky have merely averaged 69.5 points per game. This season, they have a 98.1 offensive rating, which ranks in the bottom three in the league. Chicago is without top scorer Rickea Jackson, who is out for the season after suffering an ACL injury on May 17 against the Minnesota Lynx.
Meanwhile, Gabriela Jaquez missed four games before returning on Sunday against the Toronto Tempo. That four-game stretch saw the Sky play without two of their four double-digit scorers.
At the start of the season, the Sky played much quicker, and their defense was on point, but that has faded since Jackson’s injury. Seeing Diggins’ frustrations boiling over summed up the Sky’s issues. They also suggested that there could be a locker room divide, leaving fans speculating about major changes, potentially even a Diggins trade.
“Trade incoming,” one fan wrote.
“Can she request a trade and come back to Seattle? I need her back in a Storm jersey,” another said.
“Yeah, they might as well trade Skylar now…. they need all the draft picks they can get anyways,” one fan added.
Meanwhile, a few of former Sky star Angel Reese’s fans also weighed in. During the last few weeks of Reese’s tenure, she demanded that the front office sign better players; the forward faced heavy criticism for her critical comments.
Sky veteran Courtney Vandersloot and several other players were upset with Reese’s complaints about the franchise’s direction.
“Not Angel’s problem anymore,” one fan said.
“I bet Sloot won’t say anything about Skylar like she did with Angel,” another added.
“Ohhhh they couldn’t handle angel & thought they could handle Skylar,” one fan wrote.
Skylar Diggins’ crash-out continues online amid Sky’s struggles
Skylar Diggins’ explosive remarks weren’t limited to her postgame interview. The veteran vented her frustrations online, posting an Instagram story.
“So much to say ….,” she wrote.

Skylar Diggins joined the team as the marquee free agent this offseason from the Seattle Storm, where she had struggled to find collective success in her two-year stint. Diggins never made it past the first round in the playoffs with Seattle.
While the Sky weren’t among the contenders, they had revamped by investing in Diggins, Natasha Cloud, Rickea Jackson and Gabriela Jaquez. They retained Kamilla Cardoso after trading Angel Reese, hoping to develop and build around the former Gamecocks star.
It seemingly worked out with a 3-1 record to start the season. However, the Sky are again barreling at the bottom of the league standings. While making deeper playoff runs was something Skylar Diggins may have aspired to, as things stand, she may not even make it to the postseason this time.
A trade could be the best outcome for both sides if the Sky can’t improve.
