Paige Bueckers has always had kind words for Caitlin Clark. She has always spoken highly of Clark. Paige has even mentioned how they are good friends and share mutual respect for each other. In their college days, both superstars used to dismiss the manufactured rivalry.
Now they are in the WNBA and both were number 1 picks in the draft. Not only that, they both also went on to win Rookie of the Year awards in respective years.
Recently, Paige Bueckers was asked comment about the buzz surrounding Caitlin Clark. Clark and the Indiana Fever have been under a keen public eye late. Viral arguments between Clark and head coach Stephanie White have build a lot of pressure. So when asked about the amount of pressure on Caitlin, Paige was quick to defend her friend.
“I would just say she handles it with grace. And the pressure she’s put on every single night to perform at the level that she does. It’s inhumane, really. Like to expect people to be perfect and not have off games of off nights. If she doesn’t go for like 8 for 10 from three, people are questioning things,” Paige said.
“It’s just unfair to have to deal with that. But I am sure that she has a great team around her and great people to help her. And I know she’s a great person at dealing with it, just tuning out the noise and just continue to be there for herself and for her team. But I mean the expectations, it’s tough when you listen to it. I’m sure she has a great way of tuning it out,” she added.
