On the same day that Caitlin Clark got her seventh technical foul of the season, Jason Whitlock led a conversation with fellow analysts regarding the Indiana Fever’s behavior on the court. More than one voice in this conversation expressed disappointment with Clark’s demeanor as of late.
T.J. Moe, a former New England Patriots wide receiver who became a radio personality, went so far as to lay the blame at the feet of Clark’s father.
“There’s no way she just started this in college. She got away with it a lot because she was too good. Dad kind of failed. I got to tell you, you don’t let your kids act like that.”
Moe’s comments got a chuckle out of Whitlock, along with some sheepish smiles from the three other analysts in the conversation.
For what it’s worth, Clark’s father, Brent, was also a college athlete, winning First Team All-Conference honors at Iowa’s Simpson College. When CC was younger, there were times when Brent was her basketball coach.
Though there are many opinions on the emotional reactions coming out of Clark this season, one thing’s for sure: The next time she picks up a technical foul, she’ll be facing an automatic one-game suspension.

Still, Caitlin Clark and her Fever squad had good reason to celebrate on Wednesday, as they routed the Connecticut Sun 123-88.
After the game, Clark credited her teammates for contributing to the team’s high-octane offense.
“I thought we shared the ball really well. We played up tempo. Everybody just had one of those nights where the ball was going through the hoop.”
Clark finished with 27 points on 8-for-13 shooting from the field, along with 11 assists.
