“No one ever asked me that” – Caitlin Clark Doesn’t Hold Back On Media’s Relentless Obsession With Her

Caitlin Clark and the WNBA media go hand in hand, given the kind of attention the Indiana Fever superstar brings with her. Her entry into the league has brought new eyes and even led to a new CBA deal with players, which raised players’ salaries significantly. However, that attention sometimes gets too much for the superstar, which she mentioned in her latest conversation with the media.

During the Fever’s practice session on Friday, June 3, Clark expressed her honest thoughts on the media attention and said:

“It can be really frustrating to me at times, and I think IT’s difficult; a lot of people sometimes think I am a robot. I am not a robot. I have emotions, I have feelings, and it would be very difficult to go through a lot of that, and I am 24 years old, trying to navigate a lot of that. I have been in this world for years now and you never change any of it, but there are times that it is hard, and there are times you know probably affect me more than I put on.”

Clark also talked about the way the media pinpoints every small thing about her and the Fever. Talking about one of the media coverage on her and the team, she added:

“It was like, the headline read like, ‘This season has been everything but fun and just full of frustration for Clark and the Fever’. And I’m like, no one ever asked me that. Like, that’s wrong. Like, discuss my play, discuss if I played bad, discuss if I played good, discuss our play. And at times I understand there’s other things that need to be talked about, great, whatever, but let’s continue to move on.”

Clark added that no matter what day of the week it is, the media keeps on with the coverage on her, which she says can be frustrating. Moreover, she wanted fans to remember that she is also a human who gets affected by constant scrutiny over her personal and professional lives.

Caitlin Clark ruled out for the next game against Aces

Caitlin Clark has been ruled out of the next game against the Las Vegas Aces due to her nagging back issues. The Fever are coming off a win over the LA Sparks, in which Tyasha Harris took Clark’s place in the starting lineup. It seems the team will have to manage without her for a few more games.

USA TODAY Sports shared the update on X and wrote:

“Caitlin Clark will not play on Sunday, when the Indiana Fever take on the Las Vegas Aces. She will miss her second straight game with a back injury.”

The Fever head coach, Stephanie White, will look to play Harris for a few more games, as the starting spot has suited her well. After a dismal start to a new season on the bench, the guard scored 16 points in her second appearance as a starter this season. The team will look to continue the winning run without Clark on the roster.
