On Tuesday, reporter Scott Agness revealed that the Indiana Fever’s public relations team had revoked his “credentialed access to all team events.” In a lengthy post on his “Fieldhouse Files” website, Agness wrote that the Fever did not have “a meeting or further conversation” prior to the revocation of his credentials.

According to Agness, the Fever claimed that he’d spread “inaccurate and unsubstantiated information” about Caitlin Clark being ruled out due to a strategic management plan.

This development drew the ire of fans, who went on social media to express their displeasure towards the Fever’s handling of Agness’ situation.

“I no longer trust this team or anything they say if they recoked his credentials over something so minor”

“Pacers and Fever sure wanting to ruin a good thing. What a crying shame. Scott is awesome at his craft. Sad day to be a fever/Pacer fan. Current management will lose Clark eventually. Count on it. Need Cheryl Miller to run the team.”

“Banning reporters is so amateur hour.”

“Maybe it’s time the Fever front office is fully exposed for what they truly are…”

“I can’t stand this organization and it’s horrible management. Counting down the days til CC is with a great organization”

“Weren’t you the only one that reported Caitlin’s ankle injury last year and Aliyah’s meniscus issue this year?”

For the past few weeks, the Fever have been mired in controversy surrounding the disclosure of Caitlin Clark’s health status. In late May, the WNBA issued a warning to the team for not promptly reporting Clark’s status heading into a game against the Portland Fire.

“Hopefully, It Don’t Break Us”: Kelsey Mitchell Admits Rocky Times Inside the Fever Locker Room

In more ways than one, the Fever (4-4) are going through turbulent times at the moment. Speaking at a media availability on Tuesday, All-Star guard Kelsey Mitchell admitted that things aren’t too rosy right now inside the Fever locker room.

“If you think that everything is glitz and glamor, then you’re mistaken. I think that hard times make you or hard times can break you. And hopefully it don’t break us.”

The Fever can steady their ship when they resume action against the Atlanta Dream (5-2) on Thursday.
