As far as availability goes, Caitlin Clark has run into a rough patch these past few weeks, missing three of the Indiana Fever’s last five outings. On Sunday, though, Clark made her presence felt in the Fever’s 109-75 rout of the Las Vegas Aces.
After contributing 12 points, seven rebounds, and six assists, CC got a shoutout from Stephanie White as the Fever head coach addressed the team in the locker room following the victory.
“Six players in double figures, took care of the ball…C, welcome back, baby!”
White’s praise drew a smile and hand gesture from Clark, as well as an abundance of reactions from fans on social media.
Earlier this season, there was plenty of buzz surrounding the dynamic between Clark and White. In late May, the two went viral after White was seen berating Clark on the bench during a blowout loss to the Portland Fire.
Both White and Clark denied that there was anything more to that situation. No matter the real score between coach and player, they are in a good spot at the moment as the Fever have climbed to the no. 5 spot in the standings.
“Maybe She’ll Be a UFC Fighter”: Caitlin Clark Reacts to Sophie Cunningham’s Appearance at UFC 329
In the media availability prior to the Fever-Aces game, Caitlin Clark had another lighthearted moment. This time, she had a blast talking about her teammate Sophie Cunningham, who had a brief stint as a ring girl at UFC 329 on Saturday.
“Maybe we’ll see her do more of it. Who knows? Maybe she will be a UFC fighter at one point.”
Clark also joked that she won’t be getting Paramount Plus, one of the primary streaming platforms for the UFC, any time soon.
