To the surprise of Caitlin Clark and everyone else tuning in to UFC 329, Sophie Cunningham was the ring girl holding up the Round 1 card for the Benoit Saint Denis vs. Paddy Pimblett fight. It turned out to be the only round of entire bout, as Pimblett submitted Saint Denis with a D’Arce choke 52 seconds into the co-main event.
Cunningham’s stint as ring girl was short-lived, but Clark nevertheless found a way to watch it live. At a media availability on Sunday, the Indiana Fever star joked about the UFC streaming platform that she doesn’t plan on subscribing to any time soon.
“I did all the best that I could on my phone. I don’t even know if I have Paramount Plus. I probably don’t subscribe to that. I don’t know if I want to pay for another subscription.”
Clark’s comments on Paramount Plus had fans in stitches on social media.
Clark might not be keen on shelling out money for more streaming services, but she admitted to having a blast seeing Cunningham at the UFC event. In the words of the three-time WNBA All-Star, it was “so cool” to have Cunningham’s presence validate how people are “really paying attention to WNBA players.”
After Clark talked about Cunningham at this media session, the two Fever guards went out and helped their team blow out the Las Vegas Aces 109-75. Clark finished with 12 points, seven rebounds, and six assists while Cunningham dropped 20 points off the bench in this victory over the defending WNBA champions.

From a team perspective, the Fever’s latest win solidifies their hold on the no. 5 spot in the standings. From an individual point of view, Caitlin Clark achieved yet another milestone in this victory.
By finishing with six assists against the Aces on Sunday, Clark has become the fastest player in WNBA history to crack 600 career assists.
It took Clark just 72 games to achieve this feat. She is also the fastest to reach 500 assists, having broken Sue Bird’s previous record of 82 games when she got to 500 dimes in just 59 outings.
