DeWanna Bonner and Alyssa Thomas’ lives have been thrown into turmoil since they got into heated exchanges with Caitlin Clark last week.
On Tuesday, Thomas spoke to the media about the physical foul she committed on Clark, which resulted in a one-game suspension. She revealed that she had received death threats from social media users.
Amid the tension and criticism, Thomas’ girlfriend Bonner left a heartwarming message for her off-court partner on Instagram.
“Forever Eva,” she wrote.
The Phoenix Mercury registered a win at the Toronto Tempo 89-80 on Saturday, even with Thomas serving her suspension. Kahleah Copper stood up to the challenge and took on the scoring responsibility, putting up 27 points and five rebounds and shooting 10-for-15.
The Mercury will next face the Seattle Storm on Thursday in Phoenix, with Thomas set to return to the roster.

DeWanna Bonner played just nine games for the Indiana Fever in 2025 before being waived. However, it seems she still has some friends on the team. Fever forward Makayla Timpson left a heartfelt comment on Bonner’s Instagram post.
