DeWanna Bonner and Alyssa Thomas’ lives have taken a hard turn since they got into heated exchanges with Caitlin Clark last week. Social media was already abuzz with fans’ and analysts’ opinions on Clark’s regular altercations with game officials. And when Thomas was handed a one-game suspension for her hard foul on Clark, things got even worse. Amid all the tensions and criticism, Thomas’ girlfriend and teammate Bonner left a heartwarming message for her off-court partner on Instagram.
On Tuesday, Thomas spoke to the media about the physical foul on Clark and expressed her feelings about the criticism she had faced over the past week. She also revealed that she had received death threats from social media users.
Meanwhile, Thomas’ girlfriend was there to fill her role, with a double-double on the court, 13 points and 11 rebounds, taking their team to a win. And off the court, she was there for her partner, as the couple enjoyed their time together.
In one of her stories, she left a small message for her partner in the story comment:
“Forever Eva”

The Phoenix Mercury registered a win at the Toronto Tempo 89-80 on Saturday even with Thomas serving her suspension. Kahleah Copper stood up to the opportunity and took the scoring responsibility, putting up 27 points and five rebounds and shooting 10-for-15.
The bond Alyssa Thomas and DeWanna Bonner share off the court reflects in their chemistry on the court.
The team will next face the Seattle Storm on Thursday in Phoenix, and Thomas will return to the roster.
Fever player comments on DeWanna Bonner’s Instagram post amid tensions
DeWanna Bonner was part of the Indiana Fever for just nine games in 2025 before she was waived by the team. However, it seems she still has some friends on the team, as Fever forward Makayla Timpson left a heartfelt comment on Bonner’s Instagram post. The youngster wrote:
“😍😍😍”
Even though Bonner and Thomas have been in a difficult situation, the couple is going strong on and off the court and is often seen supporting each other on social media.
