Jason Whitlock is back with another of his rants on social media in relation to Caitlin Clark. The Indiana Fever guard was out of the team’s win over the short-handed Los Angeles Sparks 111-87 on Saturday due to the recurring back injury that has been bugging her since the start of the season. However, when Fever coach Stephanie White addressed the media before the team’s practice on Tuesday, she was surprisingly minimal on the superstar’s availability.
The Fever’s season has not been smooth thus far, with the team at 11-8. A lot of that gap has been attributed to Clark’s shooting woes and the difficulty of adjusting to White’s system.
Surprisingly, the media asked just one question about Clark’s status and whether she would practice with the team. White responded:
“Oh, no, she’s gonna be doing an individual workout today.”
Whitlock was not happy with the conversation about the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year and wrote on X:
“Is this the complete interview? The biggest star in the history of women’s basketball is out with an alleged back injury and there is ONE question about Caitlin Clark. A bunch of trained emasculated dogs afraid to ask a woman a difficult question. Wow.”
Meanwhile, Tyasha Harris got the opportunity as a starter in the absence of Clark, and she stepped up to the occasion, putting up 16 points, five rebounds and three assists in 30 minutes on Saturday.
Dave Portnoy rips Emmanuel Acho for his viral Caitlin Clark take
Joining the NBA analysts and fans who have criticized Caitlin Clark for her recent antics on and off the court, sports analyst Emmanuel Acho, a former NFL player, claimed that the league didn’t want her right now, as she was a “distraction.” Clark’s constant tussles with referees and even her coach have sparked controversy.
Barstool Sports owner Dave Portnoy berated Acho for his take on X:
“Nobody could be this stupid so I’m gonna give him a pass.”
Caitlin Clark’s absence did not impact the Fever much, as the team beat the Sparks. However, their next game with the Las Vegas Aces on the road on Sunday will be a real test for the team. White might look to test the new starting lineup in a couple of more games before she brings Clark back to the active roster.
