Chennedy Carter has had a turbulent WNBA career so far. She was picked as the 4th overall pick in the 2021 WNBA draft. She was highly rated when Atlanta Dream selected her so high in the draft. Ever since her debut, she was known for her resilience, physical game and her willingness to give 100%. She had an impressive rookie season.
However, things did not go upwards with the same graph. After just 11 games in the next season, Atlanta let her leave and LA Sparks traded for her. However, the very next season she was waived. Then she played for Chicago Sky under her 1 year contract, during which she garnered a lot of attention due to some controversial plays.
Then she was once again left without a team in 2025. She is back to playing with A’ja Wilson’s Aces. In their recent win over Dream, she suffered a lot of criticism for sighing in apparent disappointment in the post game interview. People called out that behavior and mistook it for bad attitude. Carter took to her Threads account and cleared the air behind her bad mood.
“I have family stuff going on relax dawg, I can be human. Or I’m the only one not allowed to have feelings. You don’t know if a family member died, anything. You need to chill speaking on me,” Carter shared.
What did Chennedy Carter say in the post game press conference?
Carter looked disappointed despite her team’s win. She sighed heavily and looked completely disinterested.
“I feel good about my game. Obviously I wanna help the team more than the 4th quarter if possible. But I think it was a good game. I think Chelsea Gray did what just Chelsea does, making it happen on both ends,” she answered one question.
The next two questions she did not answer with interest and people suspected there was something wrong. She even had a 20 point game, so the confusion was all but obvious as to why Carter was that dejected. However, her post puts the end to the rumors and speculations.
