Angel Reese left Chicago Sky after 2 seasons with the team. She has now joined Atlanta Dream and has played 2 games for them now. The WNBA season has well and truly started and teams are starting to take shape. As a star of Angel Reese’s stature joined a new team, all the attention around her is all but natural.
Ever since her debut in the WNBA, she has made her reputation as a double-double machine. She is renowned for her rebounds and even made a brand out of the trolls for her rebounds. With such traits, Reese has always extended her boundaries. A lot of the coaches and teammates have had only good things to say about her and it did not stop when she joined the Atlanta Dream.
Dream head coach Karl Smesko had the highest praise for Angel Reese. Recently, he claimed, “She’s gonna be someday that people are talking about for MVP sometime very soon.” He thinks that the day isn’t far away when Angel Reese’s name pops up in MVP talks. However, the fans were far from that opinion.
“6 turnovers in one half. God she sucks,” one fan said during Dream vs Aces game. “7, 8” he continued as the game went on.
“Today, Team was minus 13 with her on the floor haha. Oh she had 8, count them 8 turnovers!” Another fan noted stats from today’s game.
“No doubt. She’s already the MVP front runner,” one fan said sarcastically.
“People already talk about Reese–for all the wrong reasons,” another stated.
“This that stuff that doesn’t make sense. Gas her up to a level she clearly is not. Setting this young woman up for failure time and time again,” one fan commented.
“This is the bs that fills her head. She’s barely a fringe wnba player. So awful on offense it’s hard to watch,” another claimed.
Angel Reese fails vs A’ja Wilson and the Aces
Unbeaten Dream hosted the Las Vegas Aces today. It was an exciting matchup as Angel Reese was set to go head to head vs last season’s MVP A’ja Wilson. The much anticipated matchup did not amount to much as there was a clear winner.
A’ja Wilson had another one of her usual high quality nights. She scored 20 points with 6 rebounds. On the other side, it clearly wasn’t Angel Reese’s day. She had 9 points with 1-8 FG, 8 rebounds and 3 assists.
The performance included 8 turnovers which could not help the Dream. Despite the surge towards the end of the game to muster a comeback, the game ended in Aces’ favor, 85-84, albeit by just a point.
