Caitlin Clark fever is again on the up and up, with the star almost single-handedly drawing fans to tune in to the league. However, at this point, she is a known quantity, and fans are well aware of what she can do. Another up-and-coming name should catch the eye of those who like Clark’s game, according to one analyst.
In a Man Down Sports video clip posted on X on Monday, the Man Down Sports podcast host pressed Clark fans to take a hard look at Marina Marbrey. He claimed that she is better at deep threes in the clip.
“If the people who say that Caitlin Clark is the only one who can (shoot threes from the logo), I want to challenge them to watch Marina Mabrey all this season and I want to see if you become a new fan of Mabrey and say ‘oh I like Mabrey just as much as I like Clark’ because the stuff that ya’ll say Clark is doing — stuff that you want to see Clark doing that she did in college that she hasn’t been able to do it at a consistent basis in the league, Mabrey is doing it at a consistent basis.”
Clark is currently averaging a 33.3% three-point conversion rate. Meanwhile, the Tempo star Mabrey is averaging a 41.5% three-point conversion rate. Clark’s WNBA three-point accuracy sits at 33.0%, while Mabrey’s career average sits at 35.4%.
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Calls Out GOP Over Caitlin Clark Comments
One of the greatest NBA players of all-time took note when GOP lawmakers called Caitlin Clark “the face of your league.” He believed the comments were tainted by racism. In response, the legend posted a response on his Substack via a Thursday post from USA Today.
“I don’t know what lesson anyone is going to take away from this incident, but if I were the instructor, the one I’d want to teach is to the people in Congress and the commissioner’s office: take the constant, deliberate, and premeditated online abuse of players as seriously as you take the occasional incidents that occur on the court in the heat of the moment,” he posted.
The GOP’s comments were made in a letter that was penned to the WNBA in response to continued “attacks” on Clark.
Why members of Congress decided to push the officiating issue over any number of issues was not mentioned in the report.
