Angel Reese announced the release of her first signature shoe with Reebok, the Angel Reese 1, on Thursday. The shoe is set to be launched on July 25 in the Poison Angel colorway, and fans are excited to see the new drop. On Wednesday, Caitlin Clark also shared a glimpse of her first signature shoe with the rival brand Nike, named the Caitlin 1. And fans could not stop comparing the two products.
The rivalry this time is not just between the two players but between the brands as well. Reebok and Nike have been at the forefront of signing up-and-coming WNBA players. Moreover, Clark and Reese have been long-term rivals since their college days, and that has transitioned to the pro league as well.
Reebok’s Instagram account shared the update with the caption:
“Angel Reese 1: Poison Angel
Available 6/25”
Fans quickly compared the two, and one chose the Reese 1 over the Caitlin 1:
“Better than Clark’s😂.”
Another fan responded in the same tone and claimed that Nike shoes are just a “copy” of others:
“And they are original not a copy of every other Nike shoe.”
One more fan replied:
“eaaaactly not another kobe-kd hybrid & calling it “new””
However, another user was sure that the Caitlin 1 would do better than Reese’s launch in the sneaker market:
“no they ain’t LOL and sales will hilariously show that 😭🤣😂😭 cry in ur bathtub.”

Clark’s new shoe is set to launch in October. Reese’s announcement has come before the Indiana Fever’s second matchup of the season, against the Atlanta Dream.
Angel Reese and the Dream look to even season series with the Fever
Angel Reese and the Dream are set to battle Caitlin Clark and the Fever for the second time this season after the Fever won the last matchup 83-71. Clark and Reese have matched up six times in the WNBA thus far, with Clark leading the matchup 5-1.
When the Fever met the Dream on June 4 this season, Kelsey Mitchell led the offense with 25 points, but Caitlin Clark played an all-around game with 17 points, seven rebounds and eight assists. On the other hand, Reese registered a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Meanwhile, the Dream (9-4) will come to Indiana’s Gainbridge Fieldhouse with a better season record than the Fever (9-5). However, Clark and Co. are on a hot win streak, looking to capture their fifth consecutive victory. The teams will also play on Saturday in Atlanta.
