Back when the Orlando Magic was still competing in the 2025-26 NBA season, Angel Reese made her presence felt in their games in support of her boyfriend Wendell Carter Jr. Now that the Magic’s season is over, Carter is returning the favor.
When Reese’s Atlanta Dream visited the Washington Mystics on Saturday, Carter was spotted courtside. What’s more, he was wearing a custom-made jersey with Reese’s name and number on it.
Carter’s visit turned out to be well worth it, as Reese and her teammates blew out the Mystics 109-77. Reese finished with a season-high 17 rebounds to go along with 18 points, four steals, and one block.
With this lopsided victory over the Mystics, the Dream bounce back from a Thursday night loss to the Indiana Fever. At 7-3, Atlanta keeps in step with the Las Vegas Aces and the Dallas Wings, all of whom are pursuing the top spot held by the Minnesota Lynx (9-2).
As the offseason stretches into the summer, Carter will have more opportunities to extend his support to Reese through his courtside presence. Just weeks ago, it was Reese who was posting Instagram stories of Carter dunking on Detroit Pistons center Jalen Duren, who was reportedly in a relationship with the two-time WNBA All-Star.
Dream Rookie Calls Angel Reese Her “Big Sister” After Blowout Victory Over Mystics
Angel Reese is just getting started with her debut season for the Dream, but it appears that she has already established strong relationships in the Atlanta locker room.
After the Dream picked up the win over the Mystics, rookie center Madina Okot gave props to Reese for the emotional support she provides.
“She keeps telling me to do things that I think I’m not able to do. I feel like she just does a very great job of being big sister to me, bringing out what I don’t really see myself doing.”
Okot was one of five Dream players who finished with double-digit scoring Saturday night. The 2026 first-round pick out of South Carolina posted 11 points, five rebounds, and one steal.
