Just when it looked like the Caitlin Clark-Stephanie White altercation was firmly in the past, their shouting contest was brought up once again by netizens after the Liberty-Fever game Saturday night.

During this game, which the Liberty won 83-75, Breanna Stewart was seen having a spat with her head coach Chris DeMarco on the New York bench. Their disagreement resembled that of Clark and White, who clashed during a blowout loss to the Portland Fire last weekend.

Seeing Stewart have words for DeMarco, fans couldn’t help but think back to the criticism hurled at Clark after she argued with her head coach.

“better be the same energy,” one fan tweeted.

    “Double standard,” another fan said.

“Had this same exact thought when I watched this moment. Nothing will be said. Ridiculous,” another fan echoed.

Meanwhile, other netizens countered by saying that Stewart arguing with her coach was a different situation.

“CC has no cache to do this. Stewie has tons,” one netizen argued.

“Stewie’s a MVP and winner buddy. Not a flopper or an unlikeable person,” another netizen claimed.

“Breanna Stewart has how many championships and MVPs?” another netizen sarcastically asked.

Whatever Stewart and DeMarco were arguing about, the outcome proved to be worth it as the Liberty ended up winning a tightly contested game on their home floor.

Stewie dropped 30 points, eight rebounds, and two assists while Clark finished with 10 points, seven rebounds, and nine assists.

“That’s on Me”: Caitlin Clark Takes Accountability for Foul Trouble in Loss to Liberty

One Caitlin Clark stat that pops out is her volume of fouls against the Liberty. In 34 minutes of play, she committed a total of five personal fouls.

During the post-game media session, Clark took accountability for her foul trouble.

“Sometimes, I’m doing my best, keeping my hands out. But there were a couple [of fouls] that were just dumb tonight, and that’s on me. I can’t do those.”

Clark added that she needs to do a better job of drawing fouls and taking trips to the free throw line this season.
