“It’s a Little Premature”: Aaron Rodgers’ Brother Rejects Idea of Arch Manning Being No.1 NFL Draft Pick

Arch Manning has been one of the most hyped players since the 2025 college football season began, with many analysts projecting him to be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

However, Manning’s first season as the Longhorns‘ starting quarterback started a bit slower than everybody expected, as he took some time to find his rhythm.

Manning is now gearing up for his second year as Texas’ starting quarterback, and analysts have started hyping him up to be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2027 NFL draft again.

Aaron Rodgers’ brother Jordan Rodgers spoke about the idea of Manning going at the No. 1 player in the 2027 draft on Wednesday:

“I think it’s a little premature right now. As we sit today, I don’t think Arch is a first-round draft pick. Now when the season ends, I think he will get there, but a number one overall pick has to have a couple of things. You have to have elite traits, like generational traits. I don’t think Arch has a generational arm or generational athleticism. I think he’s got a really good arm, and I think he’s a really good athlete. Here’s where I look at his game, and this is where I want to see him improve. It’s the short passing game. He was the most inaccurate quarterback in the SEC from 0 to 10 yards and 122nd in the country, completing only 56 percent of those throws.”

Analyst Drops Blunt Statement on Arch Manning’s Talent Despite Being From Legendary Family

Analyst Emory Hunt recently spoke about the hype around Arch Manning and shared a blunt statement during his appearance on “The Ross Tucker Podcast.”

Hunt pointed out that when people think about Arch, they forget that he is not Cooper or Eli’s son.

“That’s Cooper’s son. And so, that’s the other part that kind of muddies this water. They’re looking at this through the prism of Peyton Manning and Eli Manning, not Cooper Manning. Hence, why he has terrific athleticism, that is Cooper’s son.”

Hunt added that he sees Arch as more of a straight-line athlete and said he likes the Texas star’s pocket-movement skills.

Hunt also elaborated on the specific physical traits that separate the young quarterback from the rest of his family.
